Wynyard Business Park Welcomes The Taste of Italian Coffee
An authentic taste of Italy has arrived at Wynyard Business Park, widely regarded as one of the most prestigious office developments in the Tees Valley, thanks to an award-winning and growing North East café business.
Caffe Ginevra has opened in the atrium of Wynyard Park House on Wynyard Business Park, located close to the junction of the A19 with the A689, just north of Billingham.
Anthony Finn launched the first Caffe Ginevra in Prudhoe in Northumberland in 2013. Three years ago it was voted the Best Café in the North East. A second café followed in Blyth in Northumberland and, after Wynyard, a fourth Caffe Ginevra will open on the outskirts of Newcastle early next year (2019).
As well as support from their customers, Anthony and his team have also impressed the owner of Wynyard Business Park, Northumberland Estates, his landlord in Blyth, and his first landlord in Prudhoe.
Anthony Cape, Asset Manager at Northumberland Estates said: “When the opportunity arose for a new café operator, Caffe Ginevra was an obvious choice. We like Anthony’s approach, the service he provides for his customers and, of course, his coffee.”
The café is based in the atrium of Wynyard Park House, at the heart of the business park. It employs three people, including two recruited locally, who, in addition to coffee, will be providing light lunches and snacks for people based at the business park and visitors.
By next spring Caffe Ginevra will have created nearly 20 jobs at its four cafes and hopes to open more in the future.
“Our aim is to be a well-known and reputable coffee business in the North East. We put our heart and soul into everything we do. We love what we do. We love the Italian coffee environment,” said Mr Finn, who runs the business with his wife Amy.
Despite fierce competition from high street chains, as well as independent cafes and coffee shops, Caffe Ginevra’s growing success is due to a simple recipe. “Hopefully people will find that the coffee is better and the service is better,” continued Mr Finn, who is the only UK importer of the Caffe Ginevra brand of coffee which he discovered on a trip to Italy in 2009.
“At Wynyard we’ve started with a basic menu, including baguettes, home-made soup, baked potatoes and pies. We will add to this as we find out find out what people want, and so far it’s working. We’re very excited about the opportunity we have there.”
According to Anthony Cape of Northumberland Estates, Caffe Ginevra is a perfect fit for the “Wynyard Lifestyle” which has been created at the business park and adds to its appeal.
“This is an ideal location for any company looking for a North East regional office,” he said.
“There is new executive housing nearby and some really good schools. Wynyard Business Park’s position, at the junction of the A19 and A689, means the rest of the North East and further beyond is readily accessible.
“There are some exciting plans for leisure and shopping developments at the park itself and there are, of course, already some first-class amenities. We’ve got a nursery, a gym, a dental practice and now an excellent café.”
Wynyard Business Park offers high specification, grade A, office buildings and suites ranging in size from 1,000 sq ft to 20,000 sq ft, with smaller office suites available in Wynyard Park’s Business Centre, as well as development plots. Planning permission has also been granted for four new retail units, a hotel and a pub/restaurant on the site.
More than 65 businesses, employing more than 2,000 people, are already located at Wynyard Business Park. Each office comes with plentiful car parking and offers stand-alone and multi-occupied accommodation. Current tenants include Baldwins Accountancy Group, TBI Solicitors, Balfour Beatty, Wood Group, Highfield Environmental, Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick, Nortech Group and Conoco Phillips.
